Gianni Perilli Multi-purpose musician, composer, arranger, born in Villa Latina (Frosinone) spent part of his youth in Philadelphia USA speaks English (with an American accent) he started to play under the direction of his father (Cesare Perilli). After a long activity abroad with rythm and blues bands he decided to return to his origins. He continued to make the most of his musical heritage started by his father playing "ciaramella" in a modern and traditional way. He played with the top italian groups as "Il canzoniere internazionale", "Musica Nova" with Eugenio Bennato, Tullio De Piscopo, Pino Daniele, Tony Esposito, Rosario Jermano, Patrizio Trampetti, etc. His "ciaramella" echoed in italian most important theatres with Bruno Cirino, Mariano Rigillo, Concetta and Peppe Barra, Maurizio Scapparo. He has also taken part in international festivals of ethnic music all around the world and he magically fused this sound with jazz playing in Atina' s jazz festival with Paolo Damiani, Giancarlo Schiaffini and Savio Riccardi. He has partecipated in many television and radio broadcasts in Italy and abroad. One of his last works as solist on a soundtrack of the film "I magi randagi" of Sergio Citti, by Ennio Morricone. He teaches italian bagpipes in Scapoli (Is), Villa Latina (Fr) and Maranola di Formia (Lt). He invented a "ciaramella" with chromatic scale, applying keys on a traditional instrument. He is a musician equipped of great talent and sensibility. He took part in the "Morricone dirige Morricone" concert, which was held on the 27th and 28th of November 2003 in the "Parco della musica" auditorium in Rome, where the "Roma sinfonietta" organic orchestra, the chorus of Rome, Susanna Rigacci and the portoguese singer Dulce Pontes took part. Association CALAMUS PICINISCO
The Association was formed to promote, the study of the zampogna,and ciaramella.Ancient instruments used in the musical tradition of the Ciociara. The purpose is to favor the communication of the many local musicians, the constructors the researchers and everyone who is a lover of this instrument. In particular our main purposes are: - to rediscover the traditional repertoire of the instrument and to create a musical archive for the historical conservation of the material and for its publication; |
