Cannellini beans
The cannellino bean is produced in the Atina, Villa Latina area on land next to the river mollarino and river melfa, as the terrain is rich in manganese which is important in the cultivation of the beans . The cannellIno bean has been saved by the COOPERATIVA AGRICOLA DEL MOLLARINO. This cooperative was formed to save the original Seed as it was nearly extinct due to the introduction of new imported strains. The seed was used by a handfull of the older generation of local farmers producing small quantities for personal use. Thankfully now the cooperative has avoided the loss of a local product which goes back to ancient times .The cannellino bean was a favorite in the kitchens of the 17 century King Ferdinando 11 di Borbone. THE COPERATIVA AGRICOLA DEL MOLLARINO. 350gr pre cooked beans 1000-2000gr bag dried beans 500gr vacuum pack.

The Palumbo company is essentially a family managed company and rests its foundations on very strong grape and wine traditions: in fact, Mr Giovanni Palombo and his two sons represent the fourth generation of viticulturists of the Palombo family. Also, Atina, where the company is based, is a town located in the Val Comino at an altitude of 500 metres above sea level and constitutes an ideal natural environment for the cultivation of grape vines and also for the production of high quality wines. In particular, we want to emphasise the century old tradition of Cabernet grapes in Atina that has now entered the history and the culture of the town. |
